WELCOME TO THE 6TH IAHR AFRICA CONGRESS

Congress Organising
UM6P is a center of excellence that trains a new generation of committed leaders, the builders of the new Africa.

Its innovative approach puts research and innovation at the heart of its educational system as the engine of a business model in which students are the creators of solutions. The construction of its programs is inspired by African challenges such as – food security, urbanization, industrialization, and the management of public policies. Applied research initiates the educational model and sparks innovation. Which allows everyone – student, researcher, or professor, to see their projects to completion thanks to an entrepreneurial support system.

All Involved in the Future of Water,

The cornerstone of progress in addressing Africa’s complex water challenges has always been research, academia, and rigorous scientific inquiry. As the IAHR Africa Congress makes its awaited return after 2002, UM6P Morocco is privileged to be at the epicenter of this scientific reawakening. This congress is more than a meeting point; it’s a fusion of inquisitive minds, rigorous methodologies, and a deep commitment to academic excellence, seeking tangible solutions for real-world water challenges.

To the Esteemed Participants and Water Visionaries,

The intricate tapestry of Africa’s water challenges is interwoven with immense opportunities, many of which remain untapped. As we converge for the IAHR Africa Congress, after a pause of over two decades, it represents more than just a revival—it’s a testament to our unwavering commitment to Africa’s water future.

I am pleased to extend a warm invitation on behalf of the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR) to join us at the upcoming 6th IAHR Africa Congress in Marrakesh, Morocco, taking place from December 9th to 12th, 2024.

After a hiatus of over twenty years, we are excited to bring back the IAHR Africa Congress, a platform that will unite distinguished experts to collectively tackle the urgent issues of climate change and water scarcity in Africa, with implications that extend globally. Your participation would be invaluable in fostering meaningful discussions, sharing expertise, and collectively paving the way towards sustainable solutions for the future.
